Rod Luff’s The Moleskine Project – Opening Night

Two weeks ago saw the debut of Spoke Art’s permanent gallery space, an event we celebrated with the inaugural San Francisco exhibition of the work of Rod Luff. “The Moleskine Project” launch was jam packed and since displaying the original 19 framed pieces, we are proud to announce that only one work remains. A very big congratulations to Rod for a stellar first show, and a very big thanks to Shaun Roberts for the wonderful opening night photographs. Get a look at the opening night after the jump!

Rod Luff’s Moleskine Project Pt. 2

Swung by the framers the other day with Rod, who just landed in SF, to pick up his works for the upcoming “Moleskine Project” show. Can’t begin to express how impressed we both are at the quality of each and every custom frame. Archival backings, mats, Japanese rice paper hinges, uv-resistant plexi. Top notch job from top to bottom (thanks Dave!)

Oh, and of course, many of the works are double sided and have been framed accordingly!

If you would like to receive an advance look at the works, and be allowed the opportunity to purchase before the opening night, please send an email to: spokeartgallery (at) gmail (dot) com.

Rod Luff’s Moleskine Project – Preview

Rod Luff Painting

Spoke Art is proud to present the work of Australian artist Rod Luff in the San Francisco stop on Luff’s inaugural US tour. Entitled, “The Moleskine Project”, Luff”s introductory body of work is an insightful glimpse into the evolution and growth of an emerging artist at one of the most formative stages of his career. The concept is simple, to fill an entire Moleskine notebook from cover to cover within the course of a year, however it is this simplicity in and of itself that is the true test, becoming an exercise in diligence, with oftentimes very impressive results.

A combination of miniature oil paintings, sketches, notes, doodles, and studies, the Moleskine Project brings to light Luff’s conceptual underpinnings and creative inspirations in an accessible and affordable exhibit of original art. Come join us May 5th to welcome Luff to San Francisco.

Spoke Art Gallery

816 Sutter Street (at Jones), San Francisco
