New Castro Theatre prints now available

Spoke Art is proud to announce the latest additions to our ongoing Castro Theatre series, “Vertigo” designed by artists Chuck Sperry and Sam Smith. Following their highly successful releases for the Big Sleep, Citizen Kane and Gone With the Wind earlier this month, Sperry and Smith return to the Castro to reinterpret the film the British Film Institute recently called “the greatest of all time.”

Screening in beautiful 70mm format at the historic Castro Theatre in San Francisco (a city of direct significance to the film itself) please join us tonight, Friday August 31st and tomorrow, Saturday September 1st, where we’ll have the prints available in person at the theatre.

Tim Doyle’s Robocop for the Castro Theatre

Even with the San Francisco fine art fairs in full swing (Spoke will be participating at both ArtPadSF and artMrkt San Francisco)  our ongoing series at the historic Castro Theatre continues with Tim Doyle’s take on Robocop. A long time fan favorite (his solo show with us in February broke all sorts of records,) Doyle was the perfect candidate to tackle this 80s tech noir classic.

Prints will be available in person to attendees at the Castro Theatre on Friday, May 18th, with remaining copies going for sale online Monday, May 21st at 3pm PST.

Please note: Spoke Art has a very small allocation of these prints available.

Spoke Art x the Castro Theatre: Wes Anderson prints by Sam Smith

Nashville, TN-based designer and musician Sam Smith has been on the Spoke Art radar since we first saw the young artist’s work on the cover of the Japanese cult classic film ‘House.’ You may also know him as the drummer for Ben Folds and My So Called Band, or from his numerous designs for the Criterion Collection.

On Saturday, May 12th, Spoke Art will once again be teaming up with the historic Castro Theatre, this time around to present a double feature of Wes Anderson films, ‘The Life Aquatic’ and ‘The Royal Tenenbaums.’

For this fun screening, Sam has created two brand new images (plus two variants!) exclusively for Spoke Art, both of which will be made available to attendees on Saturday and online on Monday, May 14th.
