With the San Francisco art fairs just around the corner (May 16th-19th), we wanted to take a quick second to introduce an exciting young artist that Spoke Art has just begun to work with, and one whom we’ll be debuting for her first SF showing at the upcoming ArtMrkt San Francisco art fair.

Crystal Wagner (b. 1982) is a cut paper assemblage and installation artist, currently residing as an Assistant Professor of Art at Georgia College. Wagner’s massive, complex, and layered installations utilize elements of craft and assemblage presented with an organic and fluid sense of being and movement.

Wagner received her MFA in 2008 from the University of Tennessee Knoxville where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She received her BFA from the Atlanta College of Art and here AFA from Keystone College, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Since her graduation in 2008, Wagner has exhibited in an impressive series of juried and solo exhibitions at a variety of institutions across the United States, including:

Crystal’s most recent installation, “Urban Kudzo” is currently on view at the Zuckerman Museum of Art, GA.

A very big thanks to all the folks who came by last weekend for the opening night reception for Scott Hove’s “Guns and Ecstasy” exhibition. Featuring a dozen new works as recently featured on the Huffington Post (see post below) as well as a massive and immersive installation, this is one show that has to been in person.
