Next Month in NYC: Kelsey Beckett's Anemoia
Spoke Art is thrilled to announce Anemoia, a new solo show from artist Kelsey Beckett. If you've followed our gallery at any point since 2013 you know how much we love Kelsey's artwork. We couldn't be more happy to have her back for another solo exhibition with us. Anemoia will be on view at our sister gallery, Hashimoto Contemporary NYC.
Kelsey had this to say about the inspiration behind her new exhibition: "Painful nostalgia, longing for a time or place which the viewer is not, and can never be a part of. From the outside looking in as if through a window, observing that which goes on independently and without knowledge of your existence. These figures live in a dreamlike refuge. They escape outside burdens, violence, and are not restricted within the confines of gaze. This is an unrealistic, impossible world that can only be captured or felt as an echo."
Be sure to join our mailing list at spoke-art.com and follow us @spoke_art on social media for more show details and sneak peeks of the artwork. If you are interested in receiving the preview of the collection, please email your request to nyc@spoke-art.com. **The preview will be shared a few days prior to the opening**
Due to COVID-19, this exhibition will be open by appointment only. For the safety and health of our colleagues, face coverings and social distancing required at all times inside the gallery.
