Spoke Art is excited to share the artwork of UK-based artist, James Chapman! We've teamed up with the prolific illustrator and storyteller to showcase a selection of the Best Picture nominees of 2024 just in time for this weekend's Academy Awards ceremony.
This year's diverse collection of films spanning genres from horror to musical is a testament to the resurgence of the theater experience and a celebration of the majesty that is the silver screen.
Chapman's love of film and the world around him lends his talents perfectly to the creation of these small works created with paint markers within the confines of his sketch pads. When he isn't painting, he can be found working on his next book. Sounds All Around, released in 2020 won a Nautilus Book Award for Children's Non-Fiction, and if that wasn't impressive enough, the artist also earned a PhD in Nanoscience from the University of Manchester.
