On view now in South Korea: Max Dalton's Moments in Film
Spoke Art is honored to share Max Dalton's debut museum retrospective Moments in Film, now on view at My Art Museum in Seoul, South Korea. This incredible installation chronicles the many worlds that inspire Max's artwork. The audience is invited to journey into his imagination through five Acts: Cosmic Imagination, Moments in Beloved Film, The Grand Budapest Hotel and Nostalgia, Max's Artistic World, and The Sound of Music. Each Act is displayed in its own room, truly allowing the viewer to be fully immersed into each world. Fans of Spoke Art will recognize artwork featured throughout the exhibition from some of our past shows such as Bad Dads and My Neighbor Hayao.
Cosmic Imagination focuses on Max's love for all things Sci-Fi with artwork celebrating pop culture juggernauts Star Wars, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Doctor Who and more. The next Act, Moments in Beloved Film focuses on iconic movies and the moments we'll never forget seeing for the first time. My Art Museum did a particularly fantastic installation to hold The Grand Budapest Hotel and Nostalgia with a room design straight out of a Wes Anderson film. The final two Acts, Max's Artistic World and The Sound of Music are collections that are clearly two of Max's greatest points of inspiration: illustration from children's books that he grew up loving and the musicians that have shaped his life.
