Spoke NYC is pleased to present The Good, The Bad & THE DIRTY, a solo exhibition by Brian M. Viveros. The Good, The Bad & THE DIRTY will be Viveros’ inaugural solo exhibition at Spoke Art, in which he will be exhibiting paintings, detailed drawings, sketches, one-off hand embellished prints and more. The feminine figures Viveros conjures in his new body of work exude a combination of beauty, brawn and refusal, symbolizing the inviolable strength and power of the survivor.

The Good, The Bad & THE DIRTY highlights characters from Viveros’ fictitious DirtyLand, an alternate universe filled with strong irreverent female warriors, relishing in post-victory rule. These survivors are depicted wearing Viveros’ signature helmets and headgear, which are inspired by interests from the artists childhood such as Lucha Libre, Dia de los Muertos and military organizations. In what is Viveros’ most accomplished and personally inflected body of work to date, the artist has infused new characters, energy and life, into Dirtyland evolving to meet its next iteration with new strength, power and courage.
